Production Music Wiki

Sonimage was a French production music library and distributor founded in 1970 by Robert Viger. The company began distributing the Edizioni Leonardi catalogue in France.

The first albums of the label had songs from the catalogs of Edizioni Leonardi and Vedette Records. The company only began to create original content on the label’s tenth album called Trafic Pop, which contains music composed by Jean-Michel Lorgere, released in 1973.

In early 1980's the company became publisher of other Viger's labels - Musique Pour L'Image and PSI.

In 2003, the company was bought by Kapagama, ending the label’s activities. In 2009, Kapagama was purchased by Universal Publishing Production Music.

Some Sonimage songs have been re-released on Kosinus, Kosinus World and Kosinus Archive albums.
