Production Music Wiki

Ole Georg Music (also known as OGM) is an American legacy music label/ production music library and distributor based in Encino, California. It was founded in 1994 by Ole Georg after Capitol Production Music changed its name, and includes the music from this iconic label.

When Capitol's Media Music The Professional was introduced on CD, Ole Georg divided the discs into Lines. Contemporary, Classical, Hi-Tech, Special, and Optional. It was carried over when Capitol became OGM. The Archives Line was also introduced. All catalog suffixes were later merged together under The Premium Line.

Ole Georg Music (OGM) has been shaping the sound of film, TV, and media for over six decades. Founded by Ole Georg Hansen—widely recognized as the Father of North American Production Music—OGM grew out of Capitol Records’ production music division and became one of the most influential independent catalogs in the world.

OGM's music has been heard everywhere—from Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs to modern streaming hits like Poker Face. The OGM library spans authentic vintage styles ranging from orchestral scores, jazz, big band, electronic, ambient, and beyond, offering timeless tracks that continue to inspire today’s creators.

Today, Ole Georg Music is actively licensing and clearing samples, reissuing classic works on vinyl, and making the entire catalog available digitally worldwide. Whether you’re a filmmaker, sync supervisor, advertising agency, DJ, or recording artist, OGM provides direct access, straightforward licensing, and authentic sound for your next project.
