Production Music Wiki

Montparnasse 2000 was a French production music library and distributor founded in 1968 by André Farry and Louis Delacour. In the 1970s, the company began distributing Italian catalogues of library music labels in France.

The company has experienced numerous control changes in later years. First it was sold to a Belgian company. After that, Montparnasse was acquired by New York-based Belwin-Mills, who was acquired by EMI in 1990.[1] Afterwards, EMI sold MP 2000 to Crea Sound.

In June 2006, the library was acquired by Kapagama as part of Crea Sound assets purchase. In 2009, Kapagama was purchased by Universal Publishing Production Music. Some songs from the Montparnasse 2000 label were re-released on Kosinus (also during the time MP 2000 was owned by EMI) and Kosinus Archive albums.
