MasterSource (also known as MasterSource Music Catalog) is an American production music library founded by composer Marc Ferrari, in 1992. MasterSource has been credited one of the most successful independent music publishing companies in the world. Over 4,000 tracks have been licensed to television and film.
In 1996, the company started its own music library albums. In January 2007, MasterSource was acquired by Universal Music Publishing. [1] After that, the library still operated on its own in North America with Marc still running the company. In 2011, the site and all of the tracks was migrated to FirstCom Music's site. In 2012, Marc Ferrari stepped down from the company to pursue new projects, and consequently MasterSource albums became published as a FirstCom label starting from MSTR 241 album.
