L'Illustration Musicale

L'Illustration Musicale is a French production music library and distributor founded in 1965 by Eddie Warner. The company began with distributing the Conroy label in France. In 1967, they began producing their own albums. Production of the albums ended in 1977. Despite the end of the album’s production, the albums continued to be distributed until 1982, when L'Illustration Musicale founder Eddie Warner died. Afterwards, the company shifted its focus to foreign music library distribution.

In 1999, the company was purchased by Zomba Music Group and became French branch of Zomba Production Music.

In 2002, BMG purchased Zomba and amalgamated their production division to create the BMG Zomba Production Music. Consequently, in 2003 Koka Media and Zomba's French branch merged to form Koka Zomba. BMG Zomba Production Music was eventually sold to Universal Publishing Production Music, in 2007. Around the same time, L'Illustration Musicale tracks started to be reissued in selected Galerie albums.

In year 2016 (in France and Brazil) and 2020 (for the rest of the world), Universal Publishing Production Music started releasing restored versions of L'Illustration Musicale albums on their website.
