Koka Media is a French production music library founded in 1982 by Frédéric Leibovitz and Jean-Michel Gallois-Montbrun. The company was initially set-up as a joint-venture with RCA called RCA Media. After few years of waiting for financial results, RCA sold shares back to Leibovitz and Gallois-Montburn, who decided to rename the project as Koka Media.
In 1988, Koka became the market leader in France, and subsequently set-up its own branches in Germany (originally based in Munich, moved to Schondorf in 2000) and United States (in the latter country under the name Audio Action).
In 1996, a 50% stake in the company has been acquired by BMG Music, with the remaining shares being kept by Leibovitz. In turn, Koka became French distributor of BMG's production music labels. One year later, the company's US branch has been taken over by Killer Tracks. Around 2007, Universal Publishing Production Music acquired the remaining shares in Koka Media from Leibovitz, who later took rights to the Cezame label and set-up Cezame Music Agency.
