Francis, Day & Hunter Ltd. in 1946 established a British production music library called "Mood Music". The label was first published by EMI, then Mercury, and then back to Francis, Day & Hunter Organisation.
When Francis, Day & Hunter dissolved in 1972, EMI and KPM Music acquired the rights to the library. A selection of their records were later licensed in the 2010s on Associated Production Music and EMI Production Music.
In June 2023, Extreme Music started releasing compilation of FDH's library tracks through FDH Maestro Series.
