Production Music Wiki

Berlin Production Music (formerly UBM Records) is a German production music library founded in 1968 by Uwe Buschkötter. Originally, the company produced only jingles for commercials and TV stations. However, UBM started releasing its own production music albums in 1981.

In 2003, BMG Music Publishing acquired the library from Buschkötter [1] who retained the rights to UBM trademark. In the same year he moved to Berlin and subsequently set up UBM Media, which was initially distributed by BMG (and later Universal). Once Universal's rights to distribute UBM Media expired in 2011, the UPPM-owned UBM collection was renamed as Berlin Production Music.
